If you have books you want gone rather than looked after, this is the form. One collector reads it, and he buys what he actually wants rather than everything.

The collection grows by one box at a time, usually from somebody who inherited a run, cleared a loft, or decided they had stopped reading. If that is you, describe what you have and he will tell you honestly whether it is something he would buy.

He will say no to plenty of it, and he will say so plainly rather than making you an insulting offer. Bulk modern books in reading condition are almost always a no.

No valuations by return. A price without the book in hand is a guess, and a guess in writing is worse than no answer. If it is something he wants, he will say what he would pay and why — after he has seen it.

What happens to what you send

It lands in the collector's own back office and nowhere else. It is not published, it is not passed to anybody, and it is not added to a mailing list — there isn't one. Nothing is sent to you automatically either: the reply, when it comes, is written by a person. The privacy note says the same thing at more length.

What have you got?

Titles and issue numbers if you have them, the years, and how they have been stored. Condition matters more than anything else, so be honest about creases, tape, damp and missing pages.

No photographs through this form — he will ask for pictures in his reply if he wants to see them.
